Scampering above the ceiling at dawn?

Squirrels are cute outside. Inside the attic, they're an electrical fire risk with great hand-eye coordination. We humanely evict, one-way-door the rest, and close the holes they keep finding.

Signs you have squirrels

The dead giveaway: daytime noise.

If you're hearing scampering when the sun is up, it's almost never a rat or raccoon — it's squirrels. They're diurnal, busy, and they go in and out all day.

Why squirrels are uniquely annoying

Squirrels are persistent. They come back. They tell other squirrels. They have great memories for entry points. That's why one-way doors and proper sealing are the only thing that actually works — trap-and-release just opens the door for the next squirrel.

Why squirrels can't sit

A squirrel in the attic is a wire chewing problem.

Squirrels have to grind their teeth down. They do that on whatever's around — including your house's wiring.

🔥

Fire hazard

Chewed electrical wiring in attics is a documented ignition source for residential fires.

👶

Litters in the attic

Spring and late summer babies. Removal protocol shifts depending on whether kits are present.

🪵

Structural chew damage

Fascia, soffits, trim, wood blocking — anything they can get their teeth on.

🧊

Damaged insulation

Nests displace insulation, lowering attic efficiency and your AC's effectiveness.

🌾

Food caches

Stored acorns, palm seeds, and nuts attract rats and ants — a secondary infestation risk.

🔁

Repeat invaders

Squirrels remember entry points for life. Sealing must be permanent and species-rated.

Our squirrel removal process

Four steps. Done right.

Humane, fast, and built around how squirrels actually behave — which is to say, persistently.

01

Inspect

We confirm species, count, entry points, and whether there's a litter in the attic.

02

One-way doors

Squirrels exit on their own routine. They can't get back in. No trauma, no trapping needed.

03

Confirm departure

We monitor activity and confirm the attic is clear before sealing — never seal a squirrel in.

04

Seal & repair

Hardware cloth, copper mesh, matched trim. Squirrel-rated sealing that doesn't fail in six months.

Squirrel questions, answered

Quick answers, plain English.

How do I know it's squirrels and not rats?
The timing. Squirrels are diurnal — they make noise during the day, loudest at dawn and dusk. Rats are nocturnal. Daytime scampering above the ceiling is almost always squirrels.
What if there are babies?
We confirm during inspection. If there's a litter, we wait until they're mobile before installing the one-way door — otherwise the mother destroys siding trying to get back in.
Do you trap or use one-way doors?
One-way doors, almost always. They're humane, low-stress, and let the squirrel leave on its own schedule. Trapping is for special situations.
Will they just chew a new hole?
They'll try — which is why species-rated sealing matters. Hardware cloth and metal flashing in the right places defeat them.
How long does the process take?
Most squirrel jobs wrap in 1–2 weeks. Faster if there's no litter, longer if we have to wait for kits to mature.
What does it cost?
Varies by access, severity, and how much repair is needed. We give a fixed quote in writing after the inspection.
